PICC
Parts Inventory Control Calculator (PICC) is a software module that adds DBS inventory
management functionality to other, more modern, ERPs.
Inventory management has always been a very important tool to optimize costs in
dealership businesses where spare parts are involved. Caterpillar’s DBS software
provided a very robust algorithm for calculating and suggesting restocking of parts
according to previous demand.
Now that dealers are moving away from DBS into other ERPs (such as SAP, Axapta,
Lawson, and so on), PICC is the way to keep the powerful inventory management available
in DBS.
At a Caterpillar dealer’s request, we developed PICC based on Caterpillar’s confidential
algorithm, so that when the dealer moved into SAP they could have the same functionality
they had been relying on for years.
